Position Summary:
The Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments to meet the facility production schedule.

    Ensure production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation, Statement of Requirements (SOR)
    Analyze and prepare documents needed for production within ERP system.
    Read, analyze and update Build Books and provide guidance to integrators as required.
    Work with Engineering and QA to determine disposition of non-conforming material and getting it replaced / repaired.
    Creates and maintains production schedule and coordinates with other Production Planners and Program Managers to optimize resources.
    Communicate and coordinate with all Functional Area personnel to expedite flow of materials smoothly.
    Regularly attend meetings with customers and Project Managers to provide status
    May prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment in order for Assemblers to complete given tasks.
    Prepares production reports .
    Expedites operations that delay schedules and/or alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. 
    Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. 
    Ability to read, understand, utilize: parts and assembly drawings, parts BOMs, indentured part trees (>5000 line items), Engineering change notices, non-conformance reports and travelers
    Prepare Buy Work Orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment. 
    Create Build work orders to obtain material coming to production floor.


Preferred Skills:
    Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel
    Strong organizational and communication skills; Verbal and Written.
    Detail-oriented. The ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
    Good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities (or tasks)
    Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems and execute
    Candidate must have strong time management skills.
    Ability to lift at least 25lbs. and obey all safety rules and regulations set forth. 

Education/Experience Requirements:
    4 year college degree or minimum 2 years’ experience in a production environment, 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for degree. 
    At least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment preferred
    Two years of ERP system experience preferred
    Have experience reading and understanding Engineering/Ship Installation drawings.
