Position Summary:

Electronics engineering support providing set-up, configuration, operation, repair, test, evaluation, troubleshooting and repair for Afloat and Ashore Tactical Networks and C4I Systems emerging ADNS and CANES technologies C4I interrelated systems and applications to include (but limited to): GCCS-M, DCGS-N, CND, NAVMACS, Ship Platform networks, JTT-M and SubLAN.

 

Responsibilities:

-Supervises and performs set-up, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of complex circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. May require use of a microscope.

-Operates a variety of programmable test equipment (i.e. automatic network analyzer, scalar analyzer, pulse generator, meters, power supplies, etc.)

-Assist Test and Evaluation Teams with complex test procedures.

-Verifies and validates tests components and subsystems to ensure integrity of specifications.

 

Experience:

-8 yrs recent NC4I(S) or other relevant experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and de-installation of electronic systems, equipment, components, antennas, cables, cableways, waveguides and ducts, while using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.

-Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.

-Ensures safety of personnel and equipment.

-Interprets and works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.

-Diagnoses and isolates equipment and system malfunctions which fail to respond to standard corrective measures.

-Assists in the development of electronic equipment.

-Fabricating, Repairing or modifying cables and equipment

-Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

-Participates in special projects as required.

 

Required: 

High School diploma  & 2 yrs of in an industry trade school or civilian college in electronics. Completion of an appropriate military “A" school and completion of at least one appropriate military “B" or "C" school may be substituted for the two year requirement

 

Preferred: 

Associate’s or higher in EE, CE, CS, TM, IS, IRM, IT or Physics.

Experience working in a DOD, military or government agency environment
