Establish networking solutions by providing support in the areas of network design, engineering, and implementation of network systems. Develop network architectures to support lab and enterprise environments. Analyzes short term and long term capacity needs for network infrastructure. Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Research, evaluate, test, recommend, communicate and implement new security software or devices. Develops network solutions to support system reliability, management, data integrity and performance. Position will include hands-on network equipment performance testing studies in a lab environments to validate network designs prior to deployment.
-Plans new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.
-Perform enterprise network configuration and maintenance as it relates to Cisco, Sun, etc network components, network encryption devices, and computer workstations.
-Configure, troubleshoot, and design routers and multi-layer switches.
-Create Layer 2/Layer 3 Provisioning and Configuration Control Board Documentation.
-Perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
-Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems.
-Provide diagnostic support using network analysis tools.
-Provide fault isolation and incident resolution support for networks.
-Design, document, and provide technical solutions to customers for classified and unclassified networks.
-8 yrs recent NC4I(S) or other relevant experience in design, integration, analysis, troubleshooting, documenting, programming and operation of computer equipment and networks, including Sun Microsystems/UNIX, ATM, Cisco router and certificate from Cisco for a certified network associate. Networks shall also include the SATCOM, rf, microwave, fiber optic, and baseband components.
-Hands on experience with Cisco Networks routers, devices and switches
-Advanced level experience with at least two of the following: EIGRP, MPLS, BGP and OSPF
-Working technical knowledge of network switching protocols (STP, CDP, LLDP)
-Working technical knowledge of TCP/IP networks and standards (IEEE 802.1)
-Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
-Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IPsec (AES 256), Firewall, IPS, route-maps, and ACLs
-Expert knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP network technologies; DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NAT, and SSL.
- Knowledge of cabling and wiring systems, design, and installation.
Bachelors in CE, CS, TM, IS, IRM, or IT and Sun Microsystems/UNIX, Cisco router and ATM Certs
Master’s Degree and CCNP or CISSP (or higher)
Experience working in a DOD, military or government agency environment
