The NIWC Pacific BMD T&E is responsible for supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the Space-Based Warfighter Sensor (SBWS)/Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) in developing, testing, integrating, and fielding a layered Missile Defense System (MDS). This system encompasses Space, Air, Sea, and Ground-Based sensors, networks, and systems, providing comprehensive capabilities for detecting, tracking, characterizing, discriminating, and protecting the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against enemy threats across all ranges and phases of flight.

KES Inc. will play a critical role in providing essential support across various key areas. This includes project management, support for the Aegis Combat System, network support for hardware/software in testing and evaluation, data analysis, external communication (EXCOM) lab support, and ensuring interoperability of TDL systems. Additionally, KES Inc. will offer deployed support, contributing to the ongoing success and effectiveness of the NIWC Pacific BMD T&E Project's mission.

KES will support Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I), and Ship Integration Program Office PMW 760.

The cumulative value of the contract is $71M, if all options are exercised through March 2027.

In accordance with the task order, KES will provide support as a subcontractor to CDI Marine. Despite competition from other parties, CDI Marine was awarded the cost plus, fixed-fee contract and will receive support from KES. The majority of work will be completed on-site at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF (PSNS & IMF) located in Bremerton, WA.

SAN DIEGO, CA - After 7 years working devotedly as KES Inc.’s Vice President of Technical Operations, Dick Comber is set to retire on August 1, 2017. He will continue to support KES Inc. as the Senior Advisor to the CEO. Prior to his role as Vice President of Technical Operations, Dick Comber served as Director of Installation and Integration.

Jonathan Kuo will transition into the role of VP of Technical Operations. In merging the roles of Corporate Strategy and Technical Operations, Jonathan will leverage over 20 years of program/project management skills, engineering background, process improvement experience, and business development experience to continue KES’ projected growth. Jonathan Kuo has been recently working closely on program level matters and is well positioned to provide a seamless transition with no disruption to our government customers. With KES’ aggressive projected growth KES is re-aligning itself to best plan, prepare and successfully execute on current and future work.

Jonathan Kuo joined KES Inc. as Director of Strategic Iniatives and was quickly promoted to VP of Corporate Strategy in the last 2 years. Jonathan has over 20 years' experience in the San Diego Defense Industry. In his previous role at KES Inc., Jonathan Kuo was instrumental in KES’ ISO 9001 certification as well as driving business development processes.

KES Awarded Contract by U.S. Navy To Support Norfolk Naval Shipyard

SAN DIEGO, CA – KES is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to provide marine design and engineering services in support of ship repair and conversion projects at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. The contract is estimated to be worth as much as $76,130,261 through January 2020, provided that all options are exercised. The cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is comprised of an initial eight-month base period worth $15,057,815, and four successive one-year option periods. Despite competition from six other companies, KES was ultimately awarded the contract.
