KES Awarded $22 Million Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) contract to install the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES)

SAN DIEGO, CA – KES Inc. (www.kes.com) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $22 Million Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) contract to provide engineering services to support the installation of the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), as well as Naval Modular Automated Communications System (NAVMACS) platforms aboard US Navy Afloat assets in support of the SPAWAR PMW 160 program office. CANES is the Navy’s next generation tactical afloat network and platform upon which the development and deployment processes for new applications and hardware can be greatly expedited by means of an adaptable Common Computing Environment. An objective of the CANES effort is the consolidation of legacy networks aboard Navy ships, with the goal of enhancing operational effectiveness and providing a better quality of life for deployed Sailors.
