SAN DIEGO, CA., August 22, 2018 – KES Inc. (www.kes.com) today announced a $31 million subcontract award by GRSi to support the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific’s mission to support Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems to meet the Department of Defense (DoD), Joint, Coalition, and Navy’s needs for secure, functional, interoperable, and sustainable GPS-PNT capabilities.
Under the subcontract, KES will provide technical engineering services in support of hardening and modernizing existing Global Positioning System (GPS)-dependent PNT capabilities, developing GPS-independent PNT solutions, and miniaturized and scalable PNT solutions.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific (SSC Pacific), System of Systems and Platform Integration Division is the principal Navy Research and Development (R&D) Center for PNT development, verification/validation, integration and sustainment. As the Navy’s lead R&D activity, SSC Pacific is responsible for developing navigation systems, sensors, receivers, antennas, and other supporting equipment for all Navy platforms, including aircraft, ships, submarines, ground, and expeditionary systems.
